SAE J2807 sets how manufacturers measure towing so a 2026 F-150 and a 2026 Silverado can be discussed in the same units. Ford's current guides say their charts use that method and include a 150-pound driver and a 150-pound passenger.
Ratings printed before a brand adopted J2807 are still real for those trucks. They are not a clean comparison with a later chart.
