About Truck Towing Comparison
A reference catalog of towing ratings for pickups sold in the United States, organized by model year. Each number is tied to the model year, hitch and configuration named by the manufacturer document it comes from.
What it covers
The catalog has 40 nameplates from 12 brands and 623 model-year pages, from 1999 to 2026. 518 of those model years have a cited towing rating, and 34,354 configuration rows are transcribed from 360 manufacturer documents. Data as of 2026-09-24.
It is an incomplete research catalog, not a census of every truck sold. A model year without a cited source says so; its page does not borrow a number from a neighboring year. See data coverage for what is on file and what is still missing.
Manufacturer documents only
Ratings come only from documents published by the truck’s maker: towing guides, trailering guides, order guides, specification sheets and brochures. Reviews, dealer pages and spec aggregators are not used. A citation links to the document only when the manufacturer’s own website hosts it; otherwise it names the manufacturer, the document title and the page.
How the data is checked
Each document’s SHA-256 fingerprint is recorded and its tables are extracted from the PDF text layer. Every configuration row keeps the page and table it came from. A row stays only if its trailer rating and GCWR appear on the cited page of the cited document. A random sample of rows was also checked cell by cell against the rendered page. Cells the document prints ambiguously are left out rather than guessed.

Truck Towing Comparison is independent and is not affiliated with any vehicle manufacturer. Brand and model names identify the vehicles described and belong to their owners.
