A tall, flat trailer makes the truck work harder than a low boat of the same weight. Ford's 2026 F-150 guide caps frontal area at 55 square feet for ratings of 7,700 pounds or less, 65 square feet above that, and 75 square feet for fifth-wheel and gooseneck use.
